Stride America™ started by Joni Pattison in 1987, has created and produced every aspect of over 40 health and fitness events, raising awareness and funds for a variety of organizations. In addition Joni was marketing consultant to, and created many health and fitness events for corporations including Scripps Hospitals, The Walking Magazine, The National Association of Secondary Schools and others. Joan also created and implemented a fitness program for the San Diego County elementary schools...Fit for America...Fit for Life.™ In addition, Joan provided pro-bono work as a consultant to several non-profit organizations.
Because of her love of children and her passion for writing, Joni created and wrote a newspaper column, Through A Child's Eyes, for the Blade-Citizen newspaper (North County Times now) as she wanted to give elementary school children an anonymous voice. Joni was also the Public Relations Chairperson for San Dieguito for Drug Free Youth, writing a bi-monthly newspaper column, based on research relating to alcohol/drug use and abuse in teens.
Another Path Stride America is now embarking on many other paths, one of which is creating and producing an annual, national event, Survivor Stride USA. Survivor Stride USA was created to CELEBRATE ALL SURVIVORS who have endured all life-threatening diseases and/or life's very painful challenges. The event will raise awareness and funds for each participant's selected cause. In addition, the event will celebrate the survival of pets, by supporting no kill shelters. The event has been designed to allow all entrants to participate individually or with a team. By uniting through Survivor Stride USA, we all will become more caring, positive, healthy people.

We, each and every one of us, have incredible, unique gifts that we haven't even begun to tap into...gifts that we have buried, been talked out of, or we ourselves, have put them on the back burner. So...by supporting each other and coming together through the common bond of wanting to be the best we can be, we can help each other bring those gifts to actualization...one stride at a time.
